During the conference participants will discuss EU policy planning in the field of combating cybercrime, operational cooperation among Member States and with third countries, and the prospects for cooperation with private partners in combating cybercrime and in cyber threat prevention. The participants will also evaluate existing cooperation problems relating both to the different national legal frameworks and to shortages of technical equipment and highly qualified staff in the police services. The department heads of police services responsible for combating cybercrime in the EU Member States form the target audience.
A special focus will be placed on cooperation with law enforcement authorities in the Eastern Partnership countries in solving and preventing cybercrime cases. Discussions will be held on the issues and challenges that impede the successful investigation of crimes involving organised criminal groups.
The conference will be attended by 83 experts from EU Member States, representatives of the European Commission, the General Secretariat of the Council of the European Union, Europol and CEPOL, and representatives from Eastern Partnership countries (Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine), Turkey, the USA and private partner companies.
