The digital environment is one of the fastest growing sectors and offers extensive opportunities in the spheres of economic development, social innovation and good governance. The Digital Assembly 2015 will be one of the year's main events in the digital field in Europe and it is co-organised by the European Commission and the Latvian Presidency (with Ministry of Environmental Protection and Regional Development as the host ministry).
The Latvian Presidency is only the second presidency to organise the Digital Assembly at a venue outside Brussels. The Digital Assembly 2015 is also the main event relating to Presidency`s digital priority.
European digital policy. It will feature plenary sessions and workshops at which some of the key topics of the Digital Single Market strategy will be discussed, among which:
- Digital skills,
- Trust and confidence,
- Creative content,
- Ensuring access and connectivity,
- Building the digital economy for businesses and consumers,
- Promoting e-society,
- Digitising European industries and enterprises.
The Digital Assembly will be attended by high-level officials from the Member States and the European Commission, policy-makers, representatives of NGOs, developers and users of digital technologies, and other stakeholders.
