At the concert, the Sinfonietta Riga chamber orchestra will be joined by the bright young Latvian violinist, Vineta Sareika, first violin in the world famous Artemis String Quartet, with a diverse programme that contains Classical, Romantic and 21st-century music. She will play solo in Pēteris Vasks’ fantasy, Vox Amoris for violin and string orchestra, which is designed as a message about the world’s greatest power – love. Two other contemporary composers from the Baltics will be introduced at the concert – the Lithuanian composer Justė Janulytė, known for her delicately beautiful and multidimensional music and the remarkable Estonian composer Erkki-Sven Tüür.

Vineta-Sareika

Youthful fervour and vitality, a thirst for knowledge and high levels of professionalism, excellence and enthusiasm are the ingredients that make up the formula of the Sinfonietta Riga Chamber Orchestra. The musicians are young and open to creative challenges. They are studying the traditions of Baroque musical performances and the nuances behind the interpretation of Classical music; they are brilliant performers of contemporary music and do not shy away from non-academic experiments and crossover projects.

Tickets are available on the Internet.
