Prime Minister to present Latvian Presidency’s priorities to the European Parliament

On Wednesday 14 January, the Prime Minister of Latvia, Mrs Laimdota Straujuma, will take part in the first plenary session of the European Parliament in 2015. She will present the Presidency’s work programme and answer questions of the Members of the European Parliament. The Latvian Presidency will focus on three overarching priorities: Competitive Europe, Digital Europe and Engaged Europe.

In Strasbourg, Prime Minister Straujuma will also have bilateral meetings with the President of the European Parliament, Martin Schulz, the President of the European Commission, Jean-Claude Juncker, and the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Federica Mogherini.

The Prime Minister will also open the photo exhibition A Glimpse of Latvia. Nature and Architecture in the European Parliament.
