“It is possible to successfully implement the reformed cohesion policy if all of the involved partners, especially the Member States and the European Commission, will cooperate. Therefore, it is very important to strengthen good governance and increase the successful use of financial instruments in the new programming period. We must ensure that every single invested euro has the greatest possible added value to the whole EU economy,” says Jānis Reirs.
Discussions on territorial and urban development will be continued on 10 June at the informal meeting of ministers lead by Latvian Minister for Environmental Protection and Regional Development Kaspars Gerhards. For the first time, ministers will have the opportunity to discuss the EU Urban Agenda and to agree on its basic elements at a political level.
