At the start of its Presidency of the Council of the EU, Latvia welcomes Donald Tusk, the President of the European Council. During his visit, Mr Tusk will meet the President of the Republic of Latvia, Andris Bērziņš, as well as Prime Minister Laimdota Straujuma and the Minister for Foreign Affairs Edgars Rinkēvičs. On the first day of his visit, Mr Tusk, Latvian officials and the President of the European Commission, Jean-Claude Juncker, will all make speeches at the opening event of the Latvian Presidency at the Latvian National Opera House.
