Nature Concert Hall
The “host” of this year’s Nature Concert Hall is the meadow vetchling with its story of how natural meadows are starting to disappear from Latvian territory.
Since 2006, the Nature Concert Hall has combined music, science, video art and drama in its attempts to improve the interaction between people and nature through the media of music, poetry and cinema. The idea was born when the quest by musicians to find alternative performance venues found common ground with scientists striving to educate a wider audience about nature protection. The Nature Concert Hall is therefore an opportunity to learn more about Latvian nature in an interactive way while enjoying beautiful music. The events are usually held in remote and unknown corners of Latvia.
In previous years the Nature Concert Hall has focused on the hermit beetle in order to accentuate the need to preserve old parks, on the script lichen as a symbol of air quality in Latvia, and on other features of Latvia's natural heritage such as bladder wreck, sandstone and fire-bellied toads.
Entrance to all events is free of charge
