Meetings of the CEPOL Governing Board take place once every six months in the presiding country of the EU Council. The Chair of the Governing Board is a representative of the Member State holding the presidency of the European Union. The CEPOL Board is responsible for taking important decisions based on priorities defined by the presidency trio in the field of justice and home affairs. The programme of the IT-LV-LU Trio features critical issues such as illegal migration, the Schengen Area, internal security, cross-border crime, drug prevalence and fighting terrorism. The participants at the meeting discuss how to incorporate the priorities into CEPOL training plans and programmes by using different learning methods: residential courses and seminars, online seminars and e-learning modules. They examine reports on training carried out in previous years and proposals for the next year’s programmes made by the Member States. They also discuss the training budget and its provision.
