On 11-12 June 2015, during the Latvian Presidency of the EU Council, the Ministry of Agriculture, in cooperation with the International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements (IFOAM), will organise 9th European Organic Congress: Designing our Future.

There will be discussions on the development of Latvia's organic agriculture with a view to the emerging EU organic farming regulation and new opportunities for the development of organic farming after the introduction of the new Rural Development Programme. During the congress, visits are planned to innovative organic farms engaged in the production of new products as well as to research institutions involved in organic agriculture innovation projects.

The organic agriculture congress will bring together representatives of the European Commission, the respective Member State Ministries, EU research institutions, monitoring authorities, public organisations and lobbies interested in the development of organic agriculture.

15:00-15:30 - Presentations of workshop results and discussion

15:30-16:45 - Supporting the development of organic now – roundtable discussion

17:15-18:15 - Launch – Vision for organic food and farming to 2030

18:15-18:30 - Closing
