Over 40 professors of the Art Academy of Latvia – each of them outstanding in their own area of art – are ‘having breakfast’ at this exhibition. The artists creatively share impressions of their travels around Europe. The exhibition is made up of porcelain plates painted in each author’s particular style. Their motifs are explained by photographic prints on the walls of the exibition room of special moments they experienced around Europe.

Breakfast in Europe takes the form of a collection of stories by interesting personalities about exciting trips around Europe. The exhibition also reminds the visitor of the success story behind the Baltars porcelain painting workshop of the 1920s.

Last year, the exhibition was part of the Riga 2014 European Capital of Culture programme.
