Energy ministers will hold a policy debate on the implementation of the energy security strategy. They will look at progress and future developments, and in particular the issue of security of energy supply.

The Council is also expected to adopt conclusions on the implementation of the framework strategy for the energy union. This is one of the key elements of the energy union package, published in February 2015. 

Finally, ministers will also receive an update from the Commission on the state of play on international energy relations.
