Agenda highlights

• Energy union. Ministers will have an exchange of views on the energy union. Discussions will be based on the Commission communication 'Strategic framework for the energy union', adopted on 25 February 2015. The key elements from the debate will be forwarded to the European Council President as contribution to the European Council meeting on 19-20 March 2015.

• Energy infrastructure. They will also debate developments and priorities for energy infrastructure. As invited by the October European Council, the Commission will present its communication on the best courses of action to achieve the 10% target of existing electricity interconnections by 2020. The outcome of the debate will feed into the Council presidency's synthesis report on the Europe 2020 strategy.
