During the Joint Meeting of the Network of Territorial Cohesion Contact Points and the Working Group on Urban Development, experts from the EU Member States and representatives of the EU institutions will discuss potential improvements for implementing the goal of territorial cohesion and targeted actions towards facilitating territorial (including urban) development.

The task for the Latvian Presidency is to help define the issues on the agenda of the informal meeting of Directors General responsible for Cohesion Policy, Territorial Development and Urban Development taking place in Latvia and the informal meeting of Ministers responsible for Cohesion Policy, Territorial Development and Urban Development.

Representatives from the EU Member States, partner countries (Norway, Turkey, Iceland, Switzerland, and the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia), EU institutions (the European Commission, the European Parliament, the Committee of the Regions) and social partner institutions will attend the meeting. It is planned to have around 90 participants present at the meeting.
