In Riga on 5-6 March, in the framework of the Latvian Presidency of the Council of the European Union, the Latvian government and the European Commission jointly organise the High-Level Conference on Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS).

The Conference will bring together politicians, legislators, industry and civil societies to inform about and discuss the challenges and opportunities that lie in the development of the European RPAS market and industry.

The main objective of the conference is to hold for the first time an in-depth high-level political discussion at the EU level on important issues relating to RPAS.The Conference will address the main topics connected to the integration of RPAS into non-segregated airspace and allow a public debate on issues that are subject of societal concern. More specifically, the Conference will focus both on safety and security and on data protection and privacy.
