The aim of the project, led by Education Development Center, is to boost the EU's competitiveness and growth, promoting the good practice of Latvia in global education, encouraging the cooperation among professionals and involving the society in a debate on the role of education in forming the future of Europe.

The central event of the Project is a Forum on global education, scheduled to take place on 8-10 June, 2015, in Valmiera.

The Forum is aimed to discuss the future perspectives of Europe and opportunities for young people in promoting sustainable development, as well as the role of schools as global education resource centers for improvement the quality of life in local communities. Forum will gather together around 60 education and development professionals from educational institutions, municipalities, governmental institutions, NGOs, academic and research structures – represented by participants of 8 EU countries and 2 Eastern Partnership countries.

The results of the discussions taking place in the Forum will be summarized as ‟Recommendations on placing the global dimension on the agenda for education’’. The recommendations will be publicly available and will be circulated to the Forum members as well as major organisations in the sector of global education.
