European Medicines Regulatory Network has established the HMA Working Group of Quality Managers whose main task is to support the quality management of the European Medicines regulatory framework system for public and animal health. The WGQM is composed of quality managers of each national competent authority in EU and EEA countries and representatives of the European Commission and European Medicines Agency.

WGQM meetings are organised every six months by the national competent authority of the Member State that holds the EU presidency at the time of the meeting. The main items on the agenda of the WGQM Riga Meeting will be as follows:

• discussions to agree on common principles to be applied throughout the European Medicines Regulatory Network;
• exchange of quality management expertise and contributing towards the development of best practices for quality management.
