The aim of the ministerial meeting is to discuss the challenges and opportunities of the digital economy of the Eastern Partnership. At the end of the meeting, a declaration will be adopted, providing the necessary political momentum for cooperation on issues related to the digital economy.

The digital economy has been recognised as an area with great potential for both the EU and six partners at the Eastern Partnership Summit in Riga on 21-22 May 2015. The declaration reflects the two main priorities of the Latvian Presidency – Digital Europe and Engaged Europe.

The meeting will bring together Ministers responsible for Digital Economy from the 28 EU Member States, Ministers from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine and representatives from the European Commission.

The First Eastern Partnership ministerial meeting on digital economy is organised by the Latvian Presidency of the Council of the European Union and the European Commission.
