Eastern Partnership Business Forum

The main goal of the forum will be to evaluate the achievements of the Eastern Partnership (EaP) initiative from the perspective of business communities and to continue the dialogue on further development of the EaP cooperation, mainly focusing on the promotion of bilateral and multilateral economic relations between the EU and the six Eastern European partner countries – Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine also in the context of cooperation with other countries interested in the region.
The three signed Association Agreements will give a particular importance to the forum. Their implementation could open up prospects and bring additional benefits to economic cooperation.
The forum will cover the following horizontal topics:
- Eastern Partnership enhancing business prospects in the region
- Prospects for cooperation across borders in the Eastern European partner countries and beyond
- Role of the employer and business organisations in promotion of viable business environment and new business contacts
Sectoral topics:
- Transport and logistics in cross-border business cooperation
- Role of banks in access to finance for business development
- Changing business operations within a growing digital economy
- Energy resources in business development
Business-to-Business meetings:
- Taking into consideration the interest from enterprises, Business-to-Business (B2B) meetings will be organised by the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia (LIAA) at the Business Forum venue.
This Business Forum is organised by the Employers’ Confederation of Latvia in cooperation with BUSINESSEUROPE, the Latvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Employers' Group at the European Economic and Social Committee, the European Investment Bank and other prominent partners.
