Riga's report on the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea region, progress in implementing
Other meetingsOn 15-17 June 2015 the working meetings will be held in Riga, Talsi and Jurmala with the aim of promoting civic participation in the development, implementation and monitoring of the European Union's regional strategy. 18 non-governmental organisations from nine countries of the Baltic Sea region, the Black Sea region and the Danube River Basin countries will participate in the meeting. The meetings will be organised by Civic Alliance - Latvia (CAL).
In order to deepen their knowledge, the participants of the meeting will take part in the conference on 16 June organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region.On 17 June CAL will organise an informative event in Talsi where participants from the Baltic Sea region, the Black Sea region and the Danube River Basin countries will be presented with examples of the best practice of Latvian NGOs, municipalities and academics in prevention and reduction of the challenges of the Baltic Sea region.
During the meeting participants will create a strategic communication document on the cooperation issues of the organised civil societies from the three regions of the EU in order to enhance the quality of life improvement in each of the regions. CAL in its report will present to NGOs representatives the report on the progress of implementation of the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea region. CAL will moderate the discussion and will report on progress in the development of the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea region.The meeting aims to promote knowledge transfer and exchange between NGO professionals of the Baltic Sea Region and other EU regions on examples of the best practice in Latvia implementing the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region.
