Started in 1999, the Bologna Process has created the European Higher Education Area, where the main focus is to stregthen the competitiveness and attractiveness of the European higher education. It has grown in size from 29 to 47 members together with the European Commission, and the consultative members. In the interim the Bologna Follow-up Group oversees the Bologna Process and determines the future work agenda at ministerial meetings, and meets twice every six months.
