Digital Europe is one of the three policy priorities of the Latvian Presidency of the EU Council and it aims to unleash the digital potential in the economy. Cyber security is an integral element of this priority, but it requires collective efforts to reach safe and secure cyber space across the EU and globally.

In this context, the European Union Agency for Network and Information Security (ENISA) in cooperation with the Latvian Ministry of Defence, is organising the 2nd ENISA National Cyber Security Strategies Workshop on 13 May in Riga, Latvia. The event will bring together experts from government institutions, the private sector and academia who are involved in the drafting of national cyber security policies.

During the workshop, the participants will discuss the experience on drafting, implementing and evaluating national cyber security strategies in the EU Member States such as Denmark, Cyprus, the Netherlands and others. The workshop will also examine capability building and raising awareness about cyber security. Representatives from the private sector and academia will discuss the challenges and share best practices in the field.

Recently, Responsible Disclosure has become one of the most discussed policy initiatives for improving cyber security; however, there is still a lack of understanding on the conditions and implications of this initiative. The workshop therefore will be one of the platforms where distinguished experts from the government, the private sector and the CERT community will share their perspective on the implementation conditions, usefulness and consequences of this initiative.
