European Competition Day Conference: Broadening Borders for More Effective Competition Protection.

The European Competition Day Conference serves as a platform for discussions on competition policy matters that are relevant to all EU Member States. The participants at the conference - representatives from the European Commission, national competition authorities, courts and international organisations, members of the academic community, and business representatives - meet to share their experiences and exchange views on how to make competition policy a better working tool for protecting the interests of EU citizens.

The Competition Day conference in Riga will be held on 7 May 2015 and will be devoted to three main topics:

• ensuring a level playing field for public and privately owned businesses;
• cartel investigation tools and aspects of information exchange;
• differentiating between the positive and negative purchasing power of retailers.
