Agenda highlights:

The Council will look into the progress made on the investment plan for Europe and will discuss a proposal to establish a European fund for strategic investments.

The chairman of the high level group on own resources will present to the Council its first assessment report on the system of financing the EU budget.

The Council will have an exchange of views and adopt conclusions on the annual growth survey and the alert mechanism report.

The Presidency and the Commission will inform the Council about the G20 meeting of finance ministers and central bank governors which will take place on 9 and 10 February 2015 in Istanbul.

The Council is expected to approve a recommendation on the discharge to be given to the Commission for the implementation of the EU budget for 2013. The recommendation is based on the 2013 report by the European Court of Auditors.

The Council will adopt conclusions on its priorities for the EU budget for 2016.
