The topic of the three-day conference closing the Prison Fellowship Latvia project on “Participation of Non-Governmental Organisations in the Resocialisation Process” is “Latvia in Europe: participation in resocialisation”. The conference will take place at the EU House in Riga on 18 May and bring together collaboration partners from NGOs and leading Latvian experts in the field. Two experienced experts – Avo Üprus (Estonia) and Marie-Therese Reichenbach (Germany) – will be invited as lecturers. The debates will be devoted to the implementation of the involvement, growth and sustainability model in resocialisation and will be filmed for broadcasting at a later date.

On 19 May, the conference participants will visit the Resocialisation and Integration Association (RIA) centres. Plaques from the collaboration partners from Malta, Romania, Spain, the Netherlands, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Finland and Sweden will be put up at the Ratnieki centre to symbolise the collaboration that started during the Latvian Presidency. Open discussions on the topic of the project will take place at the centres.

On 20 May, the collaboration partners will sign a Memorandum of Cooperation at the Bruknas muiža centre.

A television programme will be broadcast on TV at 15:00 on 30 May. Project materials with English translation will be sent to collaboration partners and posted on the blog. To find out more about the project's activities, please go to the Prison Fellowship Latvia Facebook page.
