The aim of the conference is to develop a common understanding of the significance of ICT solutions in improving the quality of life and enhancing accessibility for persons with disabilities.

Persons with disabilities are the main target group of the conference as they often form a very vulnerable social group. The conference discussions will focus on accessibility of the information society for everyone and a better understanding of how diverse — and often even simple and cheap – new ICT solutions are in providing various services.

During the conference, decision-makers from EU institutions and the Latvian authorities, potential ICT users and also ICT solution developers will inform participants of the current situation concerning persons with disabilities and further development perspectives in the EU and Latvia.

The conference will bring together 60 representatives of larger organisations for persons with various disabilities from 28 EU Member States, as well as representatives from the European Commission and 60 representatives of Latvian organisations for persons with disabilities.
