Political meeting
Single Market Forum
Other meetingsThe European Commission in cooperation with the Latvian Presidency and the European Parliament on March 26 in Riga organizes the Single Market Forum, which will take place paralelly to the Informal Competitiveness Council. The aim of the Forum is to investigate how the Single Market works in practice and how to make it more effective in areas of digital single market, cross-border provision of services, reforms in regulated professions. The Single Market forum will be opened by Dana Reizniece-Ozola, Latvian Minister for Economics, Elżbieta Bieńkowska, Commissioner for the Internal Market and Vicky Ford, Chair of the European Parliament’s Internal Market Committee.
The forum concludes a series of 20 workshops and conferences held in 16 cities in Europe in 2014 and early 2015. The final conference in Riga will therefore bring together the threads of the 20 discussions by looking at examples of what works and what doesn’t, and drawing some initial conclusions on next steps.
Participants will include members of the European Parliament, national governments, SMEs from all around Europe and other stakeholders. Planned number of participants: 200. The forum is fully financed by the European Commission.
