On 5-6 February 2015 an informal meeting of rural development directors will be held in Jurmala, where the discussions will focus on the development of organic agriculture within the Common Agricultural Policy and on EU regulatory innovations, including short supply chains.

During the meeting, it is also planned to visit farms offering practical solutions to questions discussed at the meeting, as well as the "Buku audzētava" company and the "Lāči" bakery. The Directors for rural development at the EU Ministries of Agriculture and their deputies, representatives of the European Commission, and Mr Marco Schluter, the Director of the European Union Group of the International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements (IFOAM EU Group), will take part in the meeting.
