Ministerpräsidentin Laimdota Straujuma: Herzlich Willkommen auf EU2015.LV

The Latvian Presidency is both a great responsibility and an opportunity. It is about political and human courage and about helping ordinary Europeans.

Shortly before taking over the Presidency of the Council of the EU from Italy, Latvian Prime Minister Laimdota Straujuma introduces the official website of the Latvian Presidency – EU2015.LV – with a speech at the "Castle of Light", the main Presidency venue. The website will provide the latest news from the Latvian Presidency, live broadcasts from events, practical information, as well as introduce Latvia and tell its story. "We are proud to hold the Presidency because we believe that being part of the European family makes us more prosperous and safer," says the Latvian Prime Minister.

EU2015.LV , the "home" of the Presidency, will be a dynamic platform that not only contains key information but also acts as a digital business card for Latvia in the European Union.
"We hope you will find all the information you need about how we are trying to support Europe's economy and build a better future. Welcome to our Presidency and our website!"
