The agenda for the Conference contains issues relating to the role of the Charter of Fundamental Rights (hereinafter – the Charter) in the EU legislative process, as well as its application by the European Court of Justice. The topics discussed will also touch upon the role of the Charter in building the area of freedom, security and justice five years after the entry into force of the Lisbon Treaty. The Conference will also focus on best practices, prospects and challenges regarding the application of the Charter in the light of its increasing importance for the process of building the area of freedom, security and justice.
