Over the past several years Iveta Apkalna has succeeded in 'wiping the dust' off the queen of all musical instruments and has established a new reputation for the organ. Through her compelling performances, technical brilliance and charismatic stage presence, she has managed to achieve star status, a privilege usually reserved for conductors, singers, pianists or violin virtuosos.

This time she shares the stage with the outstanding Hungarian trumpet virtuoso Gábor Boldoczki.

Born in Rēzekne, Latvia, Iveta Apkalna studied piano and organ at the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music and continued her studies at the London Guildhall School of Music in England and Stuttgart Academy of Music and Fine Arts in Germany. Iveta Apkalna currently lives in Berlin and in Riga.

Tickets available on the Philharmonie Luxembourg website.

The concert is organised by the Embassy of Latvia in Belgium and Luxembourg.
