The exhibition is devoted to the Latvian Presidency of the Council of the European Union. In more than 200 works Latvian children reveal their vision, views, emotions and phantasies about the EU Member States.

The participants were invited to research the Sun as a symbol and concept in the folklore and culture – art, literature, architecture – of all the Member States. They translated their observations and conclusions into artworks.

The artists are participants of non-formal education groups in the age from 7 to 19.

In the summer 2014, 29 of these artworks were on show at the Permanent Representation of the Republic of Latvia to the EU in Brussels. In December, they were displayed at the Embassy of Latvia in the Netherlands.

The exhibition is organised by the National Centre for Education of the Republic of Latvia.
