Held on 3-5 March in Riga, the 17th European Lifelong Guidance Policy Network (ELGPN) Plenary Meeting will focus on the ELGPN Work Streams on career management skills and Quality-Assurance and Evidence-Base Framework (QAE Framework). Time will also be devoted to discuss future structured European cooperation on lifelong guidance policy development.

The ELGPN aims to assist the European Union (EU) Member States (and the neighbouring countries eligible for the EU Erasmus+ Programme) and the European Commission (EC) in developing European cooperation on lifelong guidance in both education and employment sectors. Its purpose is to promote cooperation at Member State level in implementing the priorities identified in the EU 2020 strategy and in the EU Resolutions on Lifelong Guidance (2004; 2008). More information available at the ELGPN website.

National delegations from 31 countries, consisting of designated ELGPN national representatives or having the mandate from their respective ministries, are expected to join the Plenary Meeting. The meeting will be chaired by Līga Lejiņa, Deputy State Secretary of the Latvian Ministry of Education and Science. Among participants there are delegates from the EU Member States, the EU candidate countries as well as representatives from the European Economic Area, the EC and various international institutions and organisations.

During the Plenary Meeting, the ELGPN members will agree on the Work Programme 2015, endorse and review work progress and review the Network's governance and processes. The 17th Plenary Meeting is jointly organised by the Latvian ELGPN official delegation, the EC and ELGPN Project Coordination Unit, the Finnish Institute for Educational Research and the University of Jyväskylä under the Latvian Presidency of the Council of the EU.

The 17th ELGPN Plenary Meeting will take place in "Radisson Blu Hotel Latvia", Riga.
